Since the 10th jubilee edition, Festival ZDARZENIA will bear the name of Józef Szajna – our Honorable Patron. In order to celebrate this moment, we wish to tell you a few words about this great Artist and show various events (referring to Professor’s rich creativity). It was hard however, to choose out of many ideas, those which will commemorate our Master in a full sense, without too much of a grand style. Therefore, one of the ideas was to demonstrate that Artist’s works are still inspiring for the young generation of artists of various fields – we will have the happening and the night’s talks to prove it. However, in order to see how the inspiration conveys on the valuable artistic propositions, it is necessary to discover Professor’s art again and again. To propagate the high art, to which we remain humble servants, we will present a documentary film and exhibition of works showing his activeness in theatre and plastic art.
1. THE LEADING ROLE – happening

Happening The Leading Role concludes the workshops of material animation led by the artists: Łukasz Szajna, Stefan Kornacki and Dominik Smużny and street art workshops led by performer and movement dramatist – Wiktor Malinowski from Delikates Theatre from Warsaw. The students of art schools who participate in the project, will combine the element of plastic art and theatre in a common street art production.
2. TEART of Józef Szajna – exhibition

The main component of TEART of Józef Szajna exhibition is the space composition (environment) Replika. The exposition additionally includes material representing the artistic achievements of Prof. Jóżef Szajna – about 50 photographs from theatre productions and The Reminiscence environment and a few dozen of boards presenting international reviews of his works. The opening of the exposition will be preceded by an open-air projection of the film The human being becomes negligent by Henryk Jantos and a special ceremony of granting a name of Józef Szajna to The International Festival of Theatre and Visual Arts ZDARZENIA Tczew –Europe.

3. THE ARTISTS’ NIGHT TALKS

venue: The Regional Showground Centre of the Lover Vistula River Valley in Tczew, 30 Stycznia Street ( hall on the 1st floor)
The night’s talk of the artists who were related to Józef Szajna: Barbara Napieraj and Irena Adamiak, actresses of Deballage – the last performance of the Artist and Magdalena Kazubowski – Houston from Theatre Korzenie from Canada, an author of Death is Within Me – dedicated to Szajna. The discussion will be moderated by Dariusz Miłkowski – director of Theatre Rozrywki in Chorzow.
