THE THIRD INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THEATRE AND VISUAL ARTS – ZDARZENIA – TCZEW – EUROPE

The Organizers offered the inhabitants of Tczew more than 40 interesting artistic events: exhibitions, performances, installations and concerts. 25 000 – guests, journalists and inhabitants from Pomeranian region and about 500 artists from Poland and abroad participated in the festival events. The most important events was the celebration of the “Jubilee of 55 anniversary of Joseph Szajna artistic work”. The festival audience had a chance to meet the Master, get to know his theatrical output and see an exhibition of his paintings, sculptures and installations. In addition, each day of the Festival provided an opportunity to watch documentary films – “A Film meeting with works of Joseph Szajna” and to participate in panel discussions devoted to his artistic achievements. The First day of the Festival began with the traditional parade. A colorful procession of characters from the Antiquity, led by the President of Tczew, Zenon Odya, playing Caesar, marched through the streets of the Old Town. Among other participants of the parade were: Chairman of Tczew City Council – Kazimierz Smolinski (“Sisyphus”); Alderman of Tczew – Marek Modrzejewski (Castellan Kociewski Marko); and the foreign guests of the Festival – Gilberto Stella (Homer) and Joanna Mrugalska-Paci (Muse).
